When we started to
develop the first release of Lifecharts MMS several years ago,
we decided to call our competitors to find out what they
offered. We found plenty of companies that offered
either contact management, Accounting, or Billing. We
found none that offered everything. The problem that
this caused was evident. Most medical clinics operated
using one vendors contact management, and another vendors
accounting software. Since these modules were separate,
it was impossible for them to communicate with each other.
A secretary would collect a payment from a patient, and then
have to leave a note for the bookkeeper to enter the payment
into the accounting software. All too often, one of
these steps would be forgotten and would cause havoc later in
the year. On top of it all, most vendors would have the
software located at the clinic, and would charge upwards of
$150/hour for software support. This was inevitable
since the support employees had to fly out to the clinic to
administer the software.
Lifecharts was
founded with the vision of being a different company - a
technology service company that was easy to do business with.
